Madonna makes social trip to Brazil and wants to make a documentary
The “queen of pop” will visit Rio de Janeiro favelas. She will also meet with politicians, businessmen and artists to raise funds for Raising Malawi foundation, which helps the children of the African country.

The “queen of pop” Madonna arrived Monday in Rio de Janeiro, in a social mission to find the slums of the city and to raise funds for Raising Malawi foundation, which helps the children of the African country where she adopted two of her four children, local media reported.
Madonna is expected to meet with the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Sérgio Cabral Filho, according to Brazilian newspaper O Globo, although the governor’s official schedule does not appear that meeting. There are reports that the pop princess will also meet with Brazilian first lady Marisa Leticia, the newspaper reported.
Madonna kept also a meeting with Brazil’s richest businessman, Eike Batista, to seek financial support for projects of Raising Malawi, O Globo reported.
Meanwhile, Anderson Sa, one of the vocalists of the band AfroReggae confirmed in its website that Madonna will meet at 16.30 at the hotel where the artist will stay in Rio de Janeiro.
Madonna is accompanied by an entourage that includes Rabbi Michael Berg, leader of the Kabbalah Center and her partner in the Raising Malawi foundation, said the band AfroReggae.
“The invitation was part of Madonna, who attended the exhibition of award-winning documentary Favela Rising has a starring Anderson,” said the band.
Madonna and her entourage will visit communities in Rio de Janeiro to find locations to film a documentary that will have the support of the singer, the Channel Four and BBC, as AfroReggae.
The documentary will be about the lives of children and young people overcome poverty through music and dance.
