Warner Music and video portal free sealed a deal to distribute the ‘clips’ of the label

Warner and YouTube have reached a deal Tuesday that will allow videos of artists such as Madonna and Green Day, represented by the label, again appear on the site. The contract, whose exact terms were not disclosed, Warner states that receive the bulk of the revenue generated from advertising associated with the contents of his singers. Indeed, differences in terms of the exploitation of the clips ended in December 2008 with the withdrawal of the products in the label of Youtube.

Thus, production of Madonna, Green Day and Metallica to be free again in the most popular player on the network, owned by tech giant Google. “The new agreement allows us to look forward and share the revenues, most of which will go to Warner when advertising is associated with the contents of their artists,” assured Chris Maxcy, director of partnerships at YouTube. After the settlement with Warner music videos from YouTube meet all the major labels, including Sony, EMI and Universal.

Warner was the first record company that authorized the publication of his videos on YouTube, following an agreement signed in 2006 but decided not to renew the contract when it lapsed. The record company wanted to receive a greater share of any revenue from the traffic on the website, which receives nearly one million monthly visits in the U.S. only.
