The American singer Madonna may be forced to pay up to 100 million pounds (about 126 million euros) to Guy Ritchie, who has been her husband for almost eight years, by divorce, according to experts cited by the newspaper The Independent. That amount is equivalent to four times what it cost the former Beatle Paul McCartney divorce from his second wife, Heather Mills. It is not known, however, if Madonna took the precaution to shield his fortune in his day demanding her future husband to sign an agreement limiting the amount that could claim in the event of failure of their marriage. Both want to fast-track divorce, American style, which could lead to an agreement outside of court in a matter of weeks, then would have to approve a judge. If Madonna and Ritchie did not succeed, however, to such an agreement would have to resort to the courts. According to the lawyer Andrew Nexbury, if Guy Ritchie stressed that the procedures for the divorce took place in Britain, Madonna could cost him much more expensive than if the case should be held in California.
