While many are still wondering if Lady Gaga is just a character created by a clever music entrepreneur whose real name is Gaga, or if his eccentric fashion sense is just one facet of a complex artist that he likes to be noticed, the fact is that the new video he has done to promote your item Alejandro has generated an intense debate that includes both Madonna fans do not look favorably on the similarities with some classic videos of the queen of pop, conservative Catholics to the sectors for which it is a deliberate heresy and also the most loyal followers who claim that Lady Gaga the singer simply honors the artist who always inspired her, and only followed the path begun 24 years ago by the Madonna herself when she dared to fall in love with a black Christ in his controversial video Like a Prayer.

The controversy came to the Washington Post, who opened the debate on your pages published an article by theologian Mark Judge, who argues that “Lady Gaga is not Madonna,” as he says, “Like a Prayer was not understood at the time by Conservative groups who criticized him harshly, even though in reality it was a powerful description of the vitality of Catholic saints and their ability to intercede in our lives to encourage our courage. “ Judge says the video instead of Lady Gaga “is the antithesis of Madonna’s fascist, and who has no history calls the moral or conscience.” A few days later, he responded in the same page another theologian, Matthew Schmalz, who defended Lady Gaga saying that both singers are intrinsically linked because they are like two sides of the same coin and therefore appear to be like day and night. Some of that is true: Germanotta has a voice as unique as Ciccone, is a composer like her, the two dance like goddesses, they know how to sell their songs and even from the same culture italonorteamericana.

The funny thing is that the new video of Alexander, in which a nun dressed in psychedelic swallowed a string and has erotic scenes of ambiguous sexuality with youths, is the third Lady Gaga has made to the subject, which is part of the album The Fame monster that was released last year and includes two hugely popular singles, Bad romance and Telephone.

The two have beautiful voices? Um, as a looooong time Madonna lover,I have to say…I was never actually impressed with Madonna’s ‘unfiltered’ voice…*enter GASP* However her dance moves were emulated by me and my girlfriends time and time again, song after song….*sigh* Ah the good ol’ days! I must say that Gaga has a bigger advantage over Madgie Poo….side by side, Gaga reigns with superiority in the talent pool! Don’t get me wrong, I love Madge….I’m just loving Gaga a wee bit more….=)
