The new girl from Ipanema
The times she gave concerts in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Madonna has always delivered a foolproof “I love you, Brazil”. But perhaps the last week she has said her greatest declaration of love for Brazil. Not before thousands of fans, but in a discreet dinner with less than ten guests in Rio de Janeiro. Very excited, she said: “From now on you will see me many times here.”

The American diva spent the last week in Brazil. Few people had been advised of the visit in advance. This time, however, offered no concert. She spent six days in this South American country, most of the time in Rio, focusing on issues unrelated to the entertainment world.
First, she wanted to be with her boyfriend Jesus Luz in his native country. The romance is said about their first birthday. It was in Rio, in December last year, in the middle of the tour ‘Sticky & Sweet’ that the couple met.
Even the blackout that left half of Brazilians in the dark on Tuesday of last week thwarted the ‘honeymoon’ Madonna with Brazil. When the lights went out the singer was in a romantic dinner next to Jesus on the beach at Ipanema. Luckily the restaurant – one of the most expensive in Rio – had a generator for emergencies and the guests had had to resort to candles.
The second reason for an unexpected visit from Madonna to Brazil were their humanitarian causes. The singer sought out the most important Brazilian businessmen to raise funds for the projects which aims to benefit poor children in the country, following the example of the social actions carried out in Malawi.

Her goal was to obtain $ 10 million. At a dinner on Thursday night in the mansion of billionaire Eike Batista, Madonna explained to the guests including the governor of Rio state, Sergio Cabral, and the mayor of the city of Rio, Eduardo Paes-that her purpose is to train teachers in poor areas so they can teach “emotional and moral values” to children.
